Chicago's Most Pet Friendly Buildings
Updated: Aug 31, 2021
If there’s one thing we pride ourselves on here at Bark Buildings, it’s knowing a thing or two about what it means for a building to be pet friendly! That can mean anything from physical amenities for our furry friends, to endless treats at the building, to less restrictive pet policies. To help you narrow down your apartment search, we’re excited to bring you our favorite buildings that are prioritizing pets in the Windy City!
Think we left out a pet friendly property that deserves to be on this list? Shoot us an email and tell us why! email@example.com
The Madison at Racine
We were so impressed by how much the team at Madison at Racine goes above and beyond to not just welcome pets, but create fun experiences that gives residents a chance to meet and truly love where they live. Past events feature a Howoween Parade and Pupstachio Party, and the lobby is equipped with multiple treat jars, pet bandanas, & poop bag holders. What’s more is they do not charge pet rent, we’re not surprised pet parents have left them glowing online reviews everywhere we looked!
1000 South Clark
In addition to being a beautiful property and checking all the boxes for amazing pet amenities, 1000 South Clark goes a step further with an in-house Pooch Club, offering easy access to services like grooming, training classes, and day care for resident pets!
Managed By: Draper & Kramer Neighborhood: South Loop
Highlights: No Weight Restrictions, Pet Events, Dog Deck, Pet Spa
We love that Eleven Thirty has no weight restrictions and welcomes pets of all sizes! And the property certainly doesn’t skimp on space as their pet amenity areas are some of the biggest we’ve seen, which is especially impressive for a building in the center of a bustling city. Their team even dedicated an entire DECK for the dogs of Eleven Thirty…now that’s showing the love!
Managed By: Draper & Kramer
Neighborhood: South Loop
Highlights: Indoor Dog Park, Treat Truck Visits, Pet of the Month
When you first see the indoor dog park at Burnham Pointe, you might confuse it for a full blown doggy day care facility, because it’s huge! Once your dog gets tired out from all those zoomies, you could treat them a freshly baked cookie from the Fido Canine Catering Treat Truck, which makes weekly visits Burnham Pointe.
Managed By: Crescent Heights
Neighborhood: South Loop
If you’ve got a playful high energy pooch who loves staring out at the skyline, Nema might be the perfect building for them. The 76 story (!) property has both indoor and outdoor play areas that provide obstacles and ample space for chase. And don't worry, there are plenty of spaces for YOU to work out as well, aside from a standard fitness center Nema features a squash court, basketball court, spin studio, and a boxing ring!
Managed By: Wood Partners Neighborhood: South Loop Highlights: 2 Private Outdoor Dog parks, Pet Spa, Pet of the Month
Alta features not one but TWO outdoor dog parks on the property! If that isn’t enough, one of the parks features a small pool and sprinkler! Perfect for cooling down your adventurous pup in those steamy Chicago summers. They also get the occasional visit from the Fido Treat Truck and surprise resident pups with complimentary gifts! Check our Alta’s yelp page and you’ll find reviews from pet parents raving about how much their dog loves living here!
The Mason Apartments
We love that The Mason Apartments offer a private covered dog run that’s extra handy during Chicago’s rough winters. They’re also located within walking distance of a veterinarian and multiple parks. Bonus perk? They hosted one of our all-time favorite types of resident pet events - dog day at the pool!
Aside from the spacious pet wash room and large dog park, we love Moment’s proximity to Lake Michigan, Riverwalk, and public dog parks. If your dog is a social butterfly, they’ll certainly thrive in this building!
Bozzuto knows how to take care of residents and their pets, so it's no surprise this stunning high rise in the Gold Coast area made our list. Resident dogs get to enjoy an expansive dog run and private balconies - but what really caught our eye was their adorable Holiday Photos Pop-Up for the dogs at Sinclair!
